Hitachi Household Appliances (Wuhu) Co., Ltd.(HHAW) co-founded by Hitachi Appliances, Inc and Hitachi (China) Ltd in 2001 mainly deals with development, manufacturing, marketing and after-sale services of room air-conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, other household appliances and their components. The company, located at a 265,000sqm block of the Economics & Technological Development Zone of Wuhu, an Anhui city sitting by the Yangtze River, has always been on track of fast growth since its incorporation. So far, the company, employing 1,296 people, and producing 500,000 room air-conditioners (95% exported) every year, has grown into one of most important overseas manufacturing bases of Hitachi. The ongoing Phase III expansion project scheduled for completion by the end of 2007 will increase the company's production capacity up to 750,000 units every year. Besides, HHAW will significantly increase the production of room air conditioners tailor made to Chinese market since 2008.

To increase Hitachi brand image and awareness among local consumers, on July 13, 2007, HHAW took initiative to erect an eye-catching lamp-box for Hitachi room air conditioners at the Zhongshan Pedestrian Street, the busiest section welcoming in more than 80,000 visitors (150,000 at peak) every day in the downtown area of Wuhu City. This is only one part of the company's efforts to make Hitachi brand recognized by more Chinese consumers.

Now the company is accelerating its paces toward more ambitious goals.
