Recently, Hitachi, Ltd. decided to restructure the R&D Center under Hitachi (China) Ltd. into an independent incorporated company, in order to provide more R&D support to the development of Hitachi's Chinese businesses, further enhance its R&D strength in China, give play to the advantages of local human resources and promote the development of global strategic products. The company named "Hitachi (China) Research and Development Corporation (HCR&D)", will be the core R&D institution of the Hitachi Group in China and play an active role. The company have a registered capital of USD6 million, to be fully contributed by the core of Hitachi's umbrella form business group in China--Hitachi (China) Ltd.
The R&D Headquarters of Hitachi, Ltd. is an important department that drives Hitachi's global R&D efforts and set up its 3rd overseas research base of the Hitachi Group, R&D Center of Hitachi (China),Ltd. in 2000. HCR&D is an independent R&D company set up by R&D Headquarters of Hitachi, Ltd. in consideration of the increasing importance of the Chinese market, with a view to developing new businesses in China, giving full play to the advantaged R&D forces and human resources in China, further expanding the business field in China, strengthening R&D efforts, providing core R&D support to over 90 relevant companies under the Hitachi Group, and consolidating its role as the global R&D base of Hitachi.
The Beijing-based new company will initiate researches in sophisticated directions in materials and biology in addition to its R&D efforts in information systems, open source software and digital home appliances.
