Hitachi Global R&D Overview

Contribution to Society by Technology is the business concept held by Hitachi since its foundation in 1910, whereby technology is always the core competence of Hitachi. Currently, over 5,350 researchers engaged in R&D activities within the Hitachi Group, including over 3,500 under Hitachi,Ltd. The R&D Headquarters of Hitachi,Ltd. governs 6 laboratories in Japan, and has set up overseas laboratories in the USA, Europe, China and Singapore. These laboratories will work together more closely in technical innovation and new product development, in order to become the Reform Accelerator and Creative Source of Growth of the Group. The laboratories of the Hitachi Group are actively pursuing cooperation with worldwide university laboratories and globalization in all fields of fundamental and application research.
