Next-generation Network Technology Research
Toward a ubiquitous network society, our research focuses on wireless, mobile and broadband network and its application technology, covering IPv6, next-generation mobile communication systems, Next-Generation Network (NGN), broadband optical access network, next-generation radio, and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) technologies.
Ubiquitous Platform R&D is aiming for digital consumer products in China market by the following approach at present: R&D of key technologies and localization of our common world-wide platform to adapt to Chinese technical standard. The technologies are related to digital televisions and digital multimedia appliances such as DVD camcorders and HDD/DVD recorders, which are assumed to be main appliances in a ubiquitous world in the future.
Open System Software Technology Research and Development
In order to realize common open standard for system environment, new technologies and solutions are required for open system infrastructure based on open source software. Current research topics are mainly regarding the support of world wide activities of Hitachi by Chinese resources, and development of potential new business opportunities in China market.
The Home Appliance Development department is dedicated to the development of air conditioners for the world market. In order to establish Hitachi as a global leader in this area of development, we mainly focus on the new air conditioner designs, production of prototypes and performance testing.
In order to support the long and stable development of China economy, we are cooperating with some well-known Chinese universities and research institutes and making active exploration in such innovative systems as medical imaging, speech synthesis and service management software, and also in environment-friendly materials to make a more secure and comfortable life for Chinese people and people around the world.
